Synagoge

Discover the Old Synagogue in Harderwijk: a municipal monument from 1839 with a moving exhibition about Jewish life and a memorial stone from the Second World War.

The monumental building of the Old Synagogue was used as a drop-in center until last year. A memorial stone in the Synagogue indicates that H. Wolf and I. Marcus laid the foundation stone for this building in 1839. The Synagogue served from 1839 to 1947. A memorial stone hangs on the exterior wall in memory of the deportation of 21 Jewish fellow citizens who perished in the Second World War.
