Lovely Harderwijk

Far from the hustle and bustle, yet close to the action.

A lively atmosphere, but never too crowded.

Harderwijk has a surprising amount of green space. The parks are scattered throughout the town and are all easily accessible. Whether you fancy a stroll, a spot in the sun or taking the children out – you can do it all here.
Hortuspark is close to the town centre and is a lovely spot to sit for a while. Plantagepark is larger and features plenty of mature trees and open space. De Stille Wei is peaceful and uncluttered, ideal if you want to escape the hustle and bustle.
Crescentpark is located in Drielanden: modern and spacious, with a pump track, a dog beach and plenty of play facilities. A place where there’s always something going on.
The Waterfront Park is still under development, but already well worth a visit. You can look out over the waterfront, the boathouses and the lighthouse.
Each park has its own atmosphere, but one thing remains the same: you can get out into the open air in no time, without leaving the city.

Hortus Park

Hortuspark is situated in a quiet spot, close to the town centre. Its compact size makes it easy to navigate and ideal for a short stroll or a moment outdoors.
On the edge of the park lies the Marius van Dokkum Museum, which lends it a cultural atmosphere. The centuries-old ginkgo biloba immediately catches the eye, as does a metal lion by artist Patrick Visser.
The park is also used for events, such as salsa dancing. Sometimes it is quiet and green, at other times it is lively.
A lovely spot where nature, art and city life come together, without feeling crowded.

Plantation Park

Plantagepark is situated on the outskirts of the city, close to the water. This location gives the park an open and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for taking a break from the hustle and bustle.
The park is spacious and green, with plenty of room for a stroll or a moment’s relaxation. You’ll find a beautiful fountain that sprays water at unexpected moments. There is also a bandstand that can be used for performances and events.
Every year, the Blije Bietjes Festival takes place here, transforming the park into a lively spot full of music and conviviality.
A lovely spot where space, greenery and a relaxed atmosphere come together.

Stille Wei

De Stille Wei is beautifully situated by the water, on the outskirts of the town. Its open location and sweeping views across the water towards Zeewolde give this spot a peaceful, almost expansive atmosphere.
It is a lovely place to go for a walk, get some fresh air, or simply pause for a moment and enjoy the view. At the edge of the area, you’ll find a dog beach where dogs can play freely and go into the water.
De Stille Wei also offers space for activities and gatherings, without losing its open and relaxed character. In winter, when it freezes over, the ice skating club sets up its ice rink here.
A place where tranquillity, space and the water come together, with each season offering its own charm.
