Podium Het Garnizoen is a special cultural venue in Harderwijk where theatre, music and cabaret come together in a unique historic setting. Situated on the grounds of the Bouw & Infra Park – the former heart of the Willem George Frederik Barracks – the venue still exudes the atmosphere of days gone by. Its distinctive industrial character, high-ceilinged spaces and monumental architectural style lend every performance extra charm and atmosphere.
What once served as stables and a garage for military vehicles has now been transformed into a modern venue whilst retaining its authentic character. With seating for 425 and standing room for 800, Podium Het Garnizoen hosts a wide variety of events and performances. The Great ChurchInside the Grote Kerk, you will find impressive ceiling paintings dating from 1561, which had been hidden beneath a layer of lime for centuries.
