The Plantagepark was laid out in 1761 on the former bastion de Corten Dood and a section of the filled-in city moat. It is partially sandwiched between the sea dam and the city wall. The Plantagepark is always open to the public. The 1940-1945 Memorial Monument stands in this Plantagepark.
