Visit windmill De Hoop in Harderwijk – a historic monument on the Havendijk.
The octagonal windmill De Hoop on the Havendijk was built between 1991 and 1999. During the reconstruction, parts of an octagonal windmill from Oldenzaal, the Reerink mill, were used. Reerink brought this mill from Weesp in 1913, where it was known as 'the giant of Weesp'. Last year, the cap and sails of the mill were restored. Free guided tours are offered, allowing you to experience the turning sails up close. In the Bakery Museum, the bakers are baking the most delicious cookies today. On Saturday, September 12, there are various activities at the Historisch Havenkwartier, of which the mill is a part. See Historisch Havenkwartier.
