Managed by the Municipality of Zeewolde. De Zegge is located in the Wolderwijd, close to Zeewolde. The island is known as an accessible spot for families: a small beach, playground equipment, space for barbecuing, and plenty of sheltered corners for those seeking a bit more peace and quiet.
About the island
De Zegge is the ultimate family island on the Wolderwijd. During the day, children play on the beach and at the playground, while parents moor their boats for a relaxing afternoon by the water. Children’s parties are celebrated here, and people swim and barbecue. But if you walk a little further, you will also find quiet spots amidst the greenery.
The island was created during the period when the Randmeren were being developed. The greenery was deliberately designed at the time and later developed into the island as visitors know it today.
