Just off the coast, opposite Naarden Marina, lie two small islands shaped like a shell. Together, they form a sheltered bay. At De Schelp, you can cool off in the forest or in the water at the small swimming beach.
About the island
Eiland De Schelp is located in the Gooimeer, just off the coast of Naarden and a stone’s throw from the marina. It consists of two arc-shaped islets of unequal size, together forming the shape of a shell. The islets enclose a sheltered bay and were created for day recreation by water sports enthusiasts.
Here you will find forest and two small swimming beaches with shallow water. During the day, it is a place to swim and cool off; in the evening, barbecuing is permitted. Thanks to its sheltered location, there is always a spot to enjoy the sun, rustling trees, and lapping waves.
