Anyone visiting the island of De Meerkoet in early spring will undoubtedly hear them: the nightingales. In addition, the island is known for its larger, sheltered inner harbor, allowing you to moor there for an extended period.
About the island
De Meerkoet is located in the Drontermeer, south of Roggebotsluis, approximately five kilometers from Kampen. Beach pavilion At Sea is situated one kilometer to the south. You can moor alongside the mainland or in the bay with berths three and four meters wide. The island can be accessed from both the north and the south.
When you step off the boat, you walk straight into the nature reserve on the other side of the dike, past the Reve-Abbertbos.
