Throughout the year, the Catharina Chapel can only be visited during a city walk. The Catharina Chapel is open to the public on Open Monument Day. On Saturday, continuous attention is given to the project *Aan Wijsheid Gewijd* (Dedicated to Wisdom), which tells the story of the virtual reconstruction of the Academy and the chapel. The Catharina Chapel was built in 1502 as a chapel for the sisters of the St. Catherine's Convent. After the Reformation, the building became vacant and was used by the Gelderland Academy from 1648 to 1816. Subsequently, the Spinning School was housed in the building between 1822 and 1843, after which the military bakery was located here from 1867 to 1907. In 1911-1912, the chapel was restored under the direction of Jos Th. Cuypers and consecrated as a parish church. The stained-glass windows date from that time. Since 1962, it has no longer been a parish church. The Catharina Chapel is a double chapel. Since the 1970s, there has been an exhibition hall downstairs and a small theater hall for drama and film upstairs. Lectures by the Gelderse Academie are held in the Catharinakapel.
