Bottermuseum met Botterloods en Vischafslag

Discover Harderwijk's fishing past at the Botter Museum, featuring a Botter shed and fish auction. A unique historical monument – visits by appointment!

The Botterloods and the Fish Auction are reminders of Harderwijk's fishing past. From 1913, the fish auction stood on the other side of the harbor and was demolished in 1972 because operations became increasingly difficult due to the sharp decline in catches. Thanks to private initiative, the new Fish Auction and Botterloods were opened on April 15, 2016. During these Open Monument Days, the Botter Museum with the Botterloods and the Fish Auction can be visited. On Saturday, September 12, there are various activities in the Historic Harbor Quarter, including for children. See Historic Harbor Quarter.
