Just a stone’s throw from the beautiful, historical inner city is Harderwijk’s City beach. An island with a fantastic sandy beach, which invites you to take off your shoes and enter the Wolderwijd barefoot. Very refreshing after shopping for a day.
The water here is very shallow, reaching only to the knees, so children can safely play in the water while the parents sit on a blanket on the side. Bring something delicious, or walk to the beach pavilion for an ice cold beer, a good glass of wine or a bite.
Apart from sun worshippers, sports enthusiasts also enjoy visiting the beach. A net is hung, paving the way to a spontaneous volleyball match. Musicians too have discovered Harderwijk’s City beach. The relaxing, often acoustical music creates a pleasant atmosphere. You actually don’t feel like going home anymore...
